COCA-COLA 600:Charlotte Top 5 Drivers to Watch

My #5 pick has never won here, #11 Denny Hamlin. But even with no wins, Denny had a fourth place finish in the October race last year and a fifth place finish in this race last year.  He has 25 starts, no wins and eight Top 5 finishes. Half of his Top 5’s have come in his last five starts. He will start third.

The #4 pick has horrible stats here, #2 Brad Keselowski. He has 17 starts with a win in the fall of 2013 and just three Top 5 finishes. But, Brad is #4 in points right now and #4 ranked for me on tracks like this. Brad will start fifth.

My #3 driver is the current points leader and polesitter, #18 Kyle Busch. Kyle has 27 starts here, no wins and 11 Top 5’s. He did finish in second place in this race last year. He is #5 ranked on tracks like this.

My #2 driver is the most recent winner here, #78 Martin Truex Jr. Martin won the 500 miler here in the Playoffs last year. Martin has 25 starts, two wins, and five Top 5’s. He is rated #1 on tracks like this, he sits #8 in points and is #16 hottest over the last six weeks. Martin will go off 15th.

My #1 pick is a three-time former-winner here and the polesitter of the All Star race, #4 Kevin Harvick. Yes, he has three wins, but in 34 career starts he only has eight Top 5’s…eight. He is ranked #2 for me on tracks like this and most importantly two of his wins came in the 600 mile May race. His last ten races have delivered six of eight career Top 5’s and two of his wins. He is on a huge hot streak here, if you combine that with his season leading five wins, that in my opinion, makes Kevin the man to watch on Sunday night in the Queen city. He sat on the pole here last year but this year he is “last row Joe” starting 39th.
