My #5 driver is the defending champion of this race and the winning-est current driver here, #48 Jimmie Johnson. Here at Dover, Jimmie has 11 wins in just 32 starts and 17 Top 5’s (53%). He has won eight of his last 18 races here. One of those wins was this race last year. He is #8 Hottest over the last six weeks, two weeks ago he was 15th hottest so things are improving.

My #4 driver to watch is the hottest driver over the last six weeks, #18 Kyle Busch. Let’s remember he has won three of the last four races this season. Here, he has 26 starts, three wins and 12 Top 5’s. One of those three wins was a big win here last year during the playoffs, making him the most recent winner here. He is #3 rated for me on tracks like this and as I said #1 hottest, don’t think Kyle will start cooling off here.

The #3 pick has never won here, #42 Kyle Larson. Kyle comes into the Monster Mile with eight starts and four Top 5’s (50%). Kyle has had a tough start to the season, he sits #12 hottest over the last six weeks. He has to feel good rolling in here where he has four Top 5’s in his last six starts.

The #2 pick has never not finished in the Top 5, #9 Chase Elliott. Chase has four starts, no wins and four Top 5’s. He is #9 hottest over the last six weeks and he has had some tough finishes but he is coming off a 3rd place finish in Alabama.

My #1 pick is the #1 rated driver on tracks like this coming into the Monster Mile, #78 Martin Truex Jr. Martin has 24 starts, two wins and four Top 5’s. Three of his Top 5’s came in the last three races that includes a win in the Chase race two years ago. Martin has been on a hot streak here and as I said #1 ranked on tracks like this. But he is #13 hottest over the last six weeks and he needs some Monster heat!
