TOP FIVE DRIVERS

FOOD CITY 500 from BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY

My #5 driver has only raced here twice, #11 Erik Jones. Erik has one Top 5, a second place finish in the August night race last year. He is started very well on short tracks last year and is just getting better.

The number #4 driver to watch is the winning-est current driver here, #18 Kyle Busch. Kyle has six wins in just 25 starts! One of those wins was in the August race last year. He has nine Top 5’s. Kyle is hot coming out of Texas with the win and in fact is #1 hottest over the last six races.  He is my #5 ranked short track driver.

My #3 driver is the defending champion of this race, #48 Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie has 30 starts with two wins and 11 Top 5 finishes. He has gotten off to a rough start this year. Jimmie showed some much needed speed in Teaxs but ultimately finished 35th. He sits 15th hottest over the last six races. Hopefully this #1 ranked short track driver will get hot in Thunder Valley.

The #2 pick won two of the summer night races here but never in the spring, #22 Joey Logano.  Joey has 18 starts, those two wins, and four Top 5’s including one in this race last year. He is my #3 ranked short track driver and is #4 hottest over the last six weeks.

The #1 driver to watch is a two time former winner here, #4 Kevin Harvick. Kevin has 34 starts, those two wins, and 12 Top 5’s. Kevin last won here in August of 2016, in the night race.  He is my #2 ranked short track driver and is also #2 hottest over the last six weeks.

Monday look for our preview of the Toyota Owners 400 from the Richmond Int. Raceway.
