My #5 driver is the #2 hottest driver over the last six races, #42 Kyle Larson. Kyle also sits #2 in points so far in the first three races of the year. He has only raced here six times but he did finish #3 here last November.

The #4 driver to watch has been much better here since they repaved and rebanked the track in the middle of 2011, #2 Brad Keselowski. Brad is my #2 rated flat track driver and he has had four Top 5’s in the 11 races. Brad’s is also #5 hottest over the last six races and is #1 in points.

My #3 driver to watch has fewer starts than Kyle Larson, #24 Chase Elliott. Chase only has two starts here in the Cup series both Top 10’s.  He comes in here #3 hot over the last six races and his team Hendrick Motorsports have eight wins in the last ten years the most of any other team by far. The engine shop there is responsible for 12 wins in the last 10 years.

My #2 pick has also found success here since the repave #22 Joey Logano. Joey has 11 starts, three Top 5’s and a win on the new surface. Six the last seven races were Top 10’s and all his Top 5’s came in this stretch including his win last November.  Joey is ranked #3 on flat tracks and currently sits #1 hottest over the last six races.

My #1 driver to watch this week is the driver who has the highest average finish in Phoenix, #4 Kevin Harvick. In total Kevin has 30 starts, eight wins and 13 Top 5’s. Since the repave he has 11 starts, six wins and nine Top 5’s. Kevin has seven straight Top 5’s five of which were wins. You should never count out Harvick but if you do, this is the last place to do it. He has #1 Average finish, sits #4 hottest and is #1 angriest after the first three races.
