My #5 driver to watch is #2 in average finish here “South of the Border,” #20 Matt Kenseth. Matt won here in 2013, and has that one win is 21 starts. He had a 4th place here last year. He is also #6 hottest over the last six races.

My #4 pick is the 4th hottest driver over the last six weeks, #19 Carl Edwards. Carl has 11 starts here and three Top 5’s. He is set to make “the Chase” and is now focused on some great finishes heading into the “post” season.

The number #3 driver to watch is the defending champion of this race, #4 Kevin Harvick. Kevin has 18 starts here, one win and four Top 5’s. He is 5th hottest over the last six weeks and is #2 rated on tracks like this.

My #2 driver was the winner here three years ago, #48 Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie has 16 starts, three wins and nine Top 5 finishes at “the Track Too Tough to Tame.” And it does not hurt that his team Hendrick Motorsports has won seven of the last 15 races here and their motor shop has eight wins in the last 15 races.

The #1 driver only has two Top 5’s here, #18 Kyle Busch. But one of his Top 5’s was a win here in 2008. A win and another Top 5 in ten starts isn’t the best, but Kyle has been hot and that hot streak should continue when he meets the “Lady in Black.” It also doesn’t hurt that three wins in the last seven years have been from his team – Joe Gibbs Racing.
