TOP FIVE DRIVERS

FORD EcoBoost 400 from HOMESTEAD-MIAMI

My #5 driver to watch has never had a Top 5 here, #22 Joey Logano. Joey has five starts with 8th being his best finish. But that best finish came last year in his first start with Team Penske. Joey just gets better every race with this team and just about every track. Now that it’s all on the line he should finish up front, but I’m afraid it won’t be enough.

My #4 driver to watch has terrible stats here, #31 Ryan Newman. Ryan has all 11 starts here with only one Top 5. But since arriving at Richard Childress Racing at the start of the year, his results have been much better. Ryan is #2 hottest over the last six races and as he showed last week at Phoenix, he’ll push as hard as he can to get his first Championship.

My #3 pick is out of the battle for the championship, #20 Matt Kenseth. He is #2 on these downforce tracks and is #5 hottest over the last six weeks. He has 11 starts here, one win, and four Top 5’s. His win came back in 2007 though.

The number #2 driver to watch is the defending champion of this race, #11 Denny Hamlin. Denny has 11 starts here, two win’s and four Top 5’s. He is #4 hottest over the last six weeks. He has been pretty quiet since his win early in the year at Talladega, but look for that to change in the swamp land.

My #1 driver to watch is coming off a win last week in Phoenix, #4 Kevin Harvick. Kevin has 11 starts at this track and five Top 5 finishes. He is #3 in average finish and in his 11 starts ten have been Top 10’s. He is #1 rated on tracks like this and #3 hottest over the last six races. Get the Buds cold!
