My #5 driver to watch is the most recent winner here, #29 Kevin Harvick. Kevin has 22 starts, three wins and six Top 5’s. Kevin not only won here last year in the November race he finished second in the March. Kevin is my #2 rated flat track driver.

My #4 driver is the defending winner of this race, #11 Denny Hamlin. Denny has 15 starts here, one win and seven Top 5 finishes. More importantly Denny, like Kevin Harvick, likes the changes to the track here – he finished 2nd here last year in the November race and won in the March race.

My #3 driver to watch is the #5 hottest driver, #16 Greg Biffle. Greg has 18 starts here, no wins and five Top 5 finishes. This new Gen 6 car has a lot more downforce than the old car, meaning a lot more car control and that should play in his favor.

My #2 pick this week is the driver who has the best average finish in Phoenix #48 Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie has 19 starts here with four wins, and 12 Top 5’s – over half! Eleven of the last 13 starts here were all Top 5’s. I don’t think Jimmie loves the track redesign as he got his worse finish ever last November: 32nd place.

The number #1 driver to watch won here in this race in 2010, #39 Ryan Newman. Ryan has 21 starts, one win and eight Top 5’s.  Ryan is just getting better here – five of his last six starts were Top 5’s.
