The #5 driver to watch finished 5th here earlier in the year, #16 Greg Biffle. Greg has weak stats here, 19 starts and only two Top 5 finishes, BUT he is a Top 5 plate track driver and is just getting better. Greg is out of The Chase and is driving like he has nothing to lose because he doesn’t.

My #4 driver to watch is another with horrible stats here, #5 Kasey Kahne. In 17 starts Kasey has only three Top 5’s. But this just happens to be Kasey’s first year with his new team, Hendrick Motorsports, and they not only helped him make The Chase, but got him a 4th place finish here in May.

My #3 driver HAS to have a BIG finish here, #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.   Dale Jr. is 39 points behind the leader and needs to gain some ground to stay in the hunt. Jr. has the stats to give him confidence – 24 starts, five wins and eight Top 5 finishes. The scary part is his last win was in 2004 but he is in Chase contention and driving with fresh swagger, we’ll see if that helps get him another Top 5.

My #2 pick is the #2 hottest driver over the last six weeks, #2 Brad Keselowski. Brad is currently #1 in the points and #2 hottest over the last six weeks. He is very happy to be here where he has two wins in just seven starts with three Top 5 finishes. Brad has a little extra pep in his step because he is also the most recent winner here – Brad got a win here in May.

My #1 driver to watch is the #1 rated restrictor plate racer won the last two fall races here in Alabama, #15 Clint Bowyer. Clint is the defending champion of the fall Talladega race, winning it the last two years in a row. He is the #1 rated plate track driver and in his last four races has two wins and a second place finish.
